My Perspective of Wansongtang | "Seven-Year Itch": My Seven-Year Journey of Chasing Light at Wansongtang
Release time:2025-06-19
The Wuhan morning air still held a light mist as I parked my car at the entrance to the Wansongtang park. The logistics area was already bustling with activity. Several container trucks were lined up, a forklift steadily loading finished goods onto a container, while on the other side, workers were unloading raw materials at the entrance to the raw materials warehouse.

As sunlight pierced through the glass curtain wall, the sound of keyboards in the office blended with the roar of machinery in the workshop, forming a morning symphony—this was a typical morning in my seventh year with the company. The company before me was no longer the cold, hard building it was seven years ago, but a vibrant community full of warmth and life, carrying the dreams and sweat of the Wansongtang people.
I. Opportunities at My Doorstep and My First Job Experience
Seven years ago, I saw a Wansongtang job posting for a chairman's driver near my home on a recruitment website and immediately applied—who wouldn't want to work near home? I received an interview notice the next day and, with a nervous heart, walked into the company. The spacious and bright administrative office area caught my eye, and I couldn't help but admire the environment. From the initial interview, to the second interview, and finally the assessment by Chairman Shen Xianli himself, I was fortunate enough to become a member of Wansongtang.

When I first started, I wasn't very familiar with the vehicle's performance. Once, when I was out on business alone, I accidentally hit a car next to me while reversing at the entrance. When I reported back to the chairman, his first question was, "Are you okay?" Then he said: "As long as you're okay, everything else is minor." These words touched me deeply. He then arranged for my predecessor to take me to familiarize myself with the vehicles. This consideration and care made me determined to improve my skills. From then until now, I have maintained a zero-accident, zero-violation driving record.

Every time I went out, the chairman would explain the purpose in advance, and upon returning, he would review and share his experiences and insights. He always said, “Work hard at the company, Keep learning, Make yourself valuable first, then you can make money." He was not only my boss but also a mentor and friend, guiding my learning and growth through my service, and allowing me to deeply understand his vision and wisdom.
II. Breaking Boundaries: From Steering Wheel to Management Position
Due to my outstanding performance, I was recommended by General Manager Quan Lingjun of the Wuhan company to take on administrative and human resources responsibilities. At that time, the company outsourced work meals, requiring daily order placement and staff rotation for cooking, resulting in low efficiency and poor quality control. I proposed a plan to build an in-house canteen. After discussing with my superiors, I reported the plan to the chairman, who immediately approved and affirmed it: "The oil must be purchased by a designated person, use good quality oil, health is important, you can arrange the rest."
With the support of my superiors, I led the entire process from chef recruitment to site renovation. After the completion of the Wansongtang canteen in Wuhan, it not only improved the employees' dining experience but also, with the company's development, doubled the number of diners. This experience gave me a sense of accomplishment in project completion and made me deeply feel that The company is an open and inclusive platform that encourages every innovative idea to come to fruition.

Due to my outstanding performance, I was transferred to procurement. Chairman Shen Xianli said, Procurement work must always adhere to the core principle of "comparing three sources" This is further elaborated in the following six points: 1. Mentality—righteous mind and thoughts, do not let small bribes from others taint your career; if there is a problem with compensation, you can openly raise it with the company; 2. Quantity—at least three sources; 3. Method—break out of fixed thinking; 4. Tools—online and offline field investigations; 5. Core idea—demonstrate high communication and negotiation intelligence; 6. Purpose—saving money is making money.
In the face of explosive order growth, the company planned to add two production lines to the Wuhan factory and widely solicited product suggestions. I proposed adding a canned powder production line, which was quickly approved. I then personally participated in equipment procurement, workshop production line design, pilot production, and production license application and acceptance. The Wuhan factory's production line was quickly upgraded and put into operation, effectively solving the pain point of insufficient production capacity. For me, personal satisfaction is not about how much salary I earn, but about seeing my ideas implemented and receiving recognition from my colleagues.

With the company's rapid development, my theoretical level in procurement, professional knowledge, and communication and coordination management capabilities have also made significant progress, achieving a leap in my career development: from company procurement assistant to procurement manager, and then to group procurement manager at the beginning of this year. The Wuhan factory has also expanded from two production workshops when I joined to eight large-scale workshops today, reflecting the strategic vision of the leadership and the collaborative wisdom of the team.
Chairman Shen Xianli often says: In work, dare to challenge, dare to innovate, As long as you dare to think and dare to do, the company is an open platform that provides fair and just promotion and rewards. Even if one day you are no longer at Wansongtang, What you learn and experience here will be your lifelong experience and wealth. These words have always inspired me and my team members to constantly strive for progress and break through ourselves in challenges.

III. Pursuing the Light and Illuminating Others: Transformation in a Growth Community
From a naive newcomer to a capable department manager, Wansongtang has witnessed my transformation; and I have had the honor of participating in its journey from growth to prosperity. Wansongtang is like a Whampoa Military Academy —Here, I have gained not only professional skills and broadened horizons, but also the precious time spent working side-by-side with like-minded people.

Chairman Shen Xianli often says, Walk the right path, and associate with excellent people. Walk with excellent people, and you will naturally become excellent; walk with hardworking people, and you will become hardworking as well. Perhaps this is the charm of an excellent company: It allows every pursuer of light to find a foothold for growth, and at the same time, with its own warmth and light, illuminates the path of many others. I know that the future will still have challenges and opportunities, but as long as I walk with such a warm and powerful team, I can face any storm without fear!
